THE ECOLOGY FLAG

Green and white colors symbolize pure air and green land. 

The oval with a line through the middle is a symbol combining the e and o from the words environment and organism. 

This symbol also resembles the Greek letter theta (Θ) which is associated with the Greek word thanatos, which means death. 

Therefore, this symbol implies humankind’s threat to the environment.
